Here's a not-so-great photo of the inside of a bazaar. Every city has at least one bazaar, and they all tend to be like this one (in Shiraz): several intersecting, large, arched halls, with a warren of smaller passageways off to the sides, and small shops packed together. Many of the shops sell low-quality mass-produced goods, but others shops have Persian carpets, handmade items of all descriptions, fabrics, spices and nuts, and so on.
