Rock Paper Scissors, a.k.a. "Rochambeau" (various spellings) is, as everyone knows, a simple children's game. Although everyone knows it and it's always seen some "use" by people trying to decide which movie to see, restaurant to go to, etc., it's definitely enjoyed a kind of revival in recent years. First (from my perspective) it became popular in Ultimate (a.k.a. Ultimate Frisbee) for resolving minor conflicts; then it was featured on the TV show The Simpsons, where Bart kept losing while chanting to himself "Rock is strong!" It's also featured on a current (early 1998) television ad.
In response to a discussion of Rochambeau on the Ultimate newsgroup, rec.sport.disc, I posted a humorous article on the origin of Rochambeau. Later, I posted some factual Information on Rochambeau.
