At dusk one evening,
we took a boat ride on the Chobe river. Among several interesting
sights, we saw some elephants eating and taking dust baths by the
side of the river. Elephants are cool. They sure are destructive,
though---on the trip, we saw some areas that were totally denuded
by elephants, whose population is too high for the available parkland.
I'm sure some culling will be necessary---either that, or elephants
and other animals will start starving.
